COLUMBIA CITY – BeatWalk – the south-end’s popular summer music festival – continues this Fri., Aug. 3, from 7 to 10 pm in historic Columbia City.
This month’s lineup features eight local acts, including Afrocop (unique soul, funk and ambient grooves), The Crying Shame (orchestral folk rock), The Yoginis World Jazz Quartet, The Marc Smason Trio, The Jean Mishler Trio (global-infused jazz), Canjaquinha (Brazilian, samba and bossa nova), Kurtis Dengler (acoustic standards and originals) and Speakeasy Unplugged (neo-soul R&B).
There will also be a Retail Happy Hour from 5 to 7 pm, with several area shops offering special BeatWalk discounts.
BeatWalk’s 2012 Season will conclude on Fri., Sept. 7. A $7 cover includes admission to all venues; kids under 14 are free. Get more info here.
