SOUTHEAST SEATTLE – Mayor Mike McGinn has postponed his next town hall meeting in Southeast Seattle.

The Mayor’s next Town Hall event was planned for July 18th at Van Asselt Community Center on Beacon Hill, but last Friday the Mayor’s Community Engagement Coordinator Sol Villarreal sent and email announcing the change.

The move comes less than two weeks after Mayor McGinn walked out on his own Town Hall event in the Rainier Valley after attendees complained about Seattle Police and accused him of ignoring their complaints because they weren’t white.

According to KIROTV, McGinn’s spokesman blamed anarchists for disrupting the meeting.
