More Than 28,000 Lose Power in South Seattle Area

SOUTH SEATTLE – More than 28,000 Seattle City Light customers lost power in the South Seattle area Friday afternoon.

The outage began just before 1:20 p.m. and affected the Beacon Hill, Georgetown, Columbia City, Rainier Valley, SoDo, Mt. Baker and parts of the International District neighborhoods.

The utility Tweeted the problem has been identified and they estimate power will be restored by 5 p.m. They didn’t say what caused the outage.
