Police: Columbia City Townhouse Targeted in Arson Attack

COLUMBIA CITY – Columbia City residents were the apparent target of arson early Monday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, someone broke a window out of a townhouse in the 3000 block of South Genesee Street around 5:13 a.m. and tossed an incendiary device inside.

The device started a small fire, which was put out by the home’s sprinkler system before the Seattle Fire Department arrived, according to police.

The man and woman inside the house at the time of the attack were not hurt.

Officers were unable to find whoever started the fire. But, the attack did not appear to be random, according to police.
