Rainier Beach Art Walk Seeks to Build Community, Improve Neighborhood Image

This Sat., Sept. 17, from 11 am to 3 pm, the Rainier Beach Merchants Association (RBMA) and SEEDArts are sponsoring an art walk featuring 17 public art installations throughout the business district.

Art Walk Rainier Beach – to be held along Rainier Avenue South between 51st Avenue and Seward Park Avenue – is a one-day event highlighting artists from around the Seattle metropolitan area with exhibits, hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Organizers say that the project is intended to help build community, create a constructive and safe image for the district and build positive awareness of Rainier Beach’s character and diversity.

In addition to the walk, the event will feature a youth art exhibit, hands-on activities and artist demonstration, live music and lunch specials from local restaurants.
