RAINIER VALLEY – This weekend, two local organizations dedicated to improving public schools in Seattle will come together to discuss next steps for action and advocacy by Southeast parents and community members.
“Many of you have already been engaged with great initiatives at your local schools,” said
Stephanie Alter Jones, Executive Director of Community & Parents for Public Schools (CPPS). This is a chance to share your successes and challenges and join a larger movement across the region.”
CPPS and the Southeast Seattle Education Coalition will meet this Sat., Oct. 13, from 10 am to noon at the Filipino Community Center (5740 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S.).
“We have a great opportunity in 2012-2013 to help improve Southeast Seattle Schools,” said SESEC Program Coordinator Katherine Barr in an open invitation to the community. “I hope you’ll be a part of it!”
