NEW HOLLY – Seattle Police say that Robbery detectives are trying to track down a man who stuck a gun in a one-year-old child’s face and threatened to kill the child’s mother during a south-end robbery Monday evening.
“Just before 8:30 pm, a woman was sitting in her car with her infant child near Shaffer Avenue S. and S. Morgan Street when a man walked up to the car, pointed a gun at the woman and demanded her wallet and purse,” wrote SPD spokesperson Jonah Spangenthal-Lee.
He added that the suspect—described as an Asian male in his late teens to early 20s, with a thin build, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt—then pressed his gun up against the one-year-old’s face and threatened to shoot the mother and her child.
He then took her diaper bag and fled.
The incident is just one in a string of violent crimes in the area lately. Just last week, another New Holly woman was robbed at gunpoint in the 6800 block of Holly Park Drive as she walked to meet a friend.
Anyone with information about the suspect or this case, is asked to contact Detective Tom Healy at (206) 684-5535 or Thomas.Healy@seattle.gov.
