I thought I read it originated at M.L.K and Orcas.
The news trucks were at the gas station just south of Othello.

Per Seattle 911, the SFD was dispatched to MLK and S Elmgrove St. That’s a block south of Kenyon and a few blocks north of Cloverdale. That’s probably where the mom’s house is. I would guess somewhere on MLK towards the I5 as to where he encountered the trouble. Probably MLK and Henderson.

It’s kind of messed up but when I was coming home in the morning and saw the news trucks parked at the gas station, the first thing that popped into my head was “Someone got shot”

Treat it like a yellow light ? eg. go faster! Of course one has to wonder how is it that these upstanding citizens have a BMW? What is it exactly that they do for a living?

Sadly, this was 3 blocks from my house. Of course last night I was also treated to a truly fantastic fireworks show at the end of my block. It could have been the show for a small city. The only bad part was that it was at 12:45 am :-{

So many questions are left unanswered by this article. I wonder what it was that made the man in the red car think the men in the silver BMW wanted to race, when they were waiving him over and he did not stop. Were they waiving a white-checkered flag? Would they have still shot him if he had raced, but he had done so half-heartedly? What if he had won? What is the right thing to do in this situation?

KOMO’s non-reporting drives me crazy. “Red” car—how descriptive! Red sportscar? Red beater? Red TransAm? Was the car souped up? Is there any reason the other drivers thought this driver might want to race? How old was the driver?

Do I need to worry for my safety driving my Toyota Matrix down MLK in the wee hours of the morning? Will I be challenged to race? More info (that is likely in the police report) would be helpful.
