RAINIER VALLEY – Seattle Police Department (SPD) has arrested a man suspected of sexually harassing a 14-year old as she walked to school last Monday morning.
According to SPD spokesman Mark Jamieson, the 18-year old suspect was arrested on Wednesday.
“During the course of the investigation, officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and determine the suspect’s identity,” wrote Jamieson. “The victim then positively identified the suspect from a photo montage.”
He said the suspect was arrested without incident and booked into King County Jail for Communicating with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
Monday’s incident came less than a week after a 14-year old girl says she was assaulted by a strange man at a Rainier Valley bus stop.
Police have not said if they think the incidents are related, but they did announce last week that five Level 3 sex offenders have recently moved into several Southeast Seattle neighborhoods.
